General Information

INSTALLATION:

Since the contacts of female connectors are recessed, it is recommended that female connectors always be connected to the power side. “O-Ring seals of bulkhead connectors depend on the surface finish of the unit to which they are being mounted. A smooth flat surface is required for proper sealing. The threaded side of the bulkhead connectors must be installed so that this is only subject to low pressure. Proper care is essential when splicing wires, as the integrity of the system is at stake.

LUBRICATION:

To extend the life and increase the reliability of connectors, apply silicone grease to the entire surface of each male pin. Grease should also be applied at the entrance of each socket. Relubrication is recommended every three to five mating cycles. The use of General Electric lnsulgrease 640 is recommended for lubrication.

MAINTENANCE:

As with any equipment, inspection should be performed regularly. Oxidation may be removed from male contacts by using no less than #800 wetl dry Emery paper cut in strips equal to or less than the width of the contact and rubbing lightly. Female sockets may be cleaned using a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. A .22 caliber bore brush with nylon bristles only may be used to remove light oxidation.

Precision interference fit between contacts and neoprene-neoprene interface ensures waterproof integrity when correctly installed and maintained. Bulkhead connectors are molded directly to the face of all threaded fittings to provide maximum strength.

PRESSURE RATINGS:

All In-Line Connectors and Bulkhead Connectors are rated for 10,000 P.S.I. consult with factory for higher ratings.

OIL FILLED CONNECTORS:

Rubber molded oil filled connectors are designed to carry back pressure up to 1,500 P.S.I.
